I’m Not Crazy, I’m Just Not User-Friendly!
Mayor Drake, is there a vision for Beaverton? No? Do you or any of the other mayoral candidates have some sort of plan for the future of our city? Adding more stores to Cedar Hills Crossing or repainting the stripes on the roads is not my idea of a plan for the future.
Within the next decade, Beaverton will become the second largest city in the state and yet we are still just “The Tron”. Our motto should be, “Being Bland”, because that is what we are. And as I have said to so many people, how can Portland be voted amongst the best cities in the world for cycling yet here in Beaverton it is downright treacherous.
No doubt you’ll probably get re-elected, it is what we do here in Beaverton. Re-elect Mayor Drake. I am not trying to come down hard on you, I am sure you are a good man, but how about taking us to a new level?
Dogging The Viddy
Going into my second week of having this damn cold. The worst part of it all is that it never gets so bad that I can justify skipping work, although I did call in sick on Wednesday to try and recover a little bit.
As always I am continuing to ride my bike to and from work. After all, that which does not kill us only makes us stronger.
Carpe Diem…
Winter On The Square

I spent the early part of this afternoon at Pioneer Square. One word. Cold. My daughter’s were there with the school choir singing some carols and I took off early from work to go and watch.
I took a few random snapshots using my Nokia cell phone, not the best but you have to work with the tools you have on hand.
Drinking, Coffee… Feet up.
Day one of my 4 day vacation. Drinking coffee. That was top on my list of things to do. Later, I will attempt to finish one of the three books I picked up at Powell’s three months ago. For now, I’ll be satisfied with being in feet up mode, drinking my brew, listening to iTunes and waiting for the snow.
Ice Biking Redux

What you see above is the 26″ Nokian Hakka WXC 300 studded mountain bike tire. These are some of the baddest (in a good sense) tires available for those of you who, like myself, refuse to get off the bike just because the weather turns a little nippy.
These tires are only suited for riding on snow and ice and should not be used for riding year around or over clear patches of ground. The studs are high-grade carbide steel and will last for many seasons of winter riding, which is good considering that each tire retails for about $100.00
If I had a set of these on my Gary Fisher then I would have probably avoided my last crash which left me with a broken thumb and two broken ribs.
