This image was captured during a journey I undertook along the river in the Portland industrial area. It was quite a bizarre landscape out there but it made for some interesting photography.

I’ve been using the weather as a bad excuse for not getting more miles in on my Fillmore but seeing as I have the next three days off from work I have decided to do a little riding along the Eastbank Esplanade. Come rain or shine I am dragging my ass out of bed early tomorrow and will head on down to the Willamette.

Today, here in Portland, Governor Bill Richardson announced his full support of Senator Barack Obama. I applaud Richardson for taking a positive step to try and rally the Democratic Party around a single candidate rather than keep up with the divisiveness.

Governor Richardson was candid about his personal relationship with the Clintons but made it clear that Barack Obama is the candidate best suited to lead us in this next phase of our country’s history. It was a fantastic engagement and both Barack Obama and Bill Richardson made a good case for voting Obama into the White House in November.

Barack Obama will be in Portland tomorrow morning. It seems that the event is sold out and the free tickets are being scalped to those unlucky enough to have missed out on getting them. It pays to surf the web. I found out about the event early this week on the Portland Metblog site and followed the link to get my tickets online.
I’ll be there tomorrow with my two daughters to see the man in person.
I started out supporting Hilary Clinton but at the moment I have some doubts. I’ll see what Senator Obama has to say tomorrow and then wait to see what Clinton is going to do. The way the story is playing out, I am getting the impression that Hilary Clinton is not unlike John McCain. Two old dogs with the same old tricks.
Perhaps I am wrong. At present I am undecided about who to support and that in essence is part of the problem with the current Democratic Party process. It is getting closer to November every day and instead of having a candidate that we can fully support to beat the Republicans we are left with a fight amongst our own.
Will I see some history tomorrow? Possibly. The main thing is to get a first hand look at one of the candidates.
Here is something to ponder. The tickets to see Obama tomorrow were free. If and when Hilary graces us it will be interesting to see how much we will have to pay to see her speak. Will it be an event open to the general public? Will she simply fly in and wave to the crowds or will she spend any amount of time speaking to the people? Time will tell.

Good times and great rides are almost upon us. Yeah, I ride my bike year around but I always look forward to spring weather for getting out and getting some miles under my belt. Taking the Eastbank Esplanade out to the Springwater Corridor in the morning is a refreshing trek.
I’d like to be able to get the attention of the local government here in Beaverton to see what they could do about making cycling a little safer. I ride a lot of commuter miles here in Beaverton but it is always a hazard so when it comes to recreation I find myself riding over the hill to Portland.
No matter, I am jazzed.
