Directive 51 aka NATIONAL SECURITY PRESIDENTIAL DIRECTIVE/NSPD 51

Directive 51 is a Presidential Directive aimed at maintaining continuity of government after a catastrophic event affecting the United States.

Some people are afraid that this is a ploy by George Bush to seize permanent control of the country.  It is possible but not probable, why wait so long to introduce Directive 51 if his goal was to become a dictator.

No, it is my opinion that Directive 51 was created as yet another step to incrementally take away our civil rights.  At the moment it has some people up in arms but the hysteria will die down and then another law or directive will come along to chip away at the constitution or to oppress another freedom.  People will hem and haw but they will accept it and then the day will come when we are not a democracy but something else.

There will not be any grand battles in the street, freedom will go with a whimper due to the lethargy of the public.

As for Directive 51, I do not see it as a tool to be used by Bush to seize control of the government.  No, he is looking forward to a wealthy life in the private sector.  He’ll have enough cash and connections to ensure that he will never have to worry.

Hilary

So, the status quo is going strong in regards to Hilary Clinton. The man on the street is certain that she will be a poor leader if elected. Socialized medicine is a sign of the apocalypse. She will lead us into damnation.

We’ve all heard these comments and then in the same argument those who are making these claims will somehow manage to say how great a president Bush has been and all the good he has done for the country.

At the moment it is easy to dog Hilary Clinton because she has not sat in the White House as the leader of the country, yet. And she might not even get the chance. But George Bush has. When you speculate about Hilary Clinton don’t forget to also look at the facts of the Bush presidency.

Sure, he supports our troops. He wants us to continue funding the war in Iraq. He wants to avoid universal health care for the citizens of this country. He wants to build the economy by awarding multi-million dollar contracts to Blackwater, Halliburton and other large corporations. He is a man of action.

Weapons of mass destruction? They existed. Just because we have never found any sign of them does not mean that Saddam did not have them at the ready to strike at America. Bin Laden? Just because early on in the campaign in Afghanistan when we had credible intelligence on numerous occasions telling us where he was, it was not a blunder on Bush’s part when he failed to act and when he failed to authorize sending in more troops to block Bin Laden’s escape. It was certainly no error on Bush’s part when he decided to invade Iraq and destabilize the entire region, making it more hospitable to terrorists and other anti-American groups. It wasn’t his job to think about the consequences, such as not having enough troops in the beginning to secure a country which just saw its leader deposed and was going to be needing major reconstruction.

The cause of all this mayhem is and will continue to be Hilary Clinton. Right? That is what I am hearing.

Personal Politics Aside

It is not that I am stumping for the Democrats, in the past I have been a supporter of Ronald Reagan and for a while even George H.W. Bush. No, I am all about picking the person or people who will do the most effective job at representing me, my interests and the overall prosperity of my nation. A persons color or gender or even religious beliefs do not prevent me from considering them as a candidate for public office as long as that person is not forcing their individuals beliefs upon me.

George W. Bush was just a train wreck. At any point up until today has any Republican ever taken the time to consider that prior to entering politics Bush was never successful at anything he ever tried? From business to baseball he was always inept.

The Clinton/Obama Machine is composed of two individuals whom you may not always agree with but in comparison to the current administration both Hilary and Barack have enjoyed some measure of success in their respective lives.

Don’t listen to me. I am just some dude. I am just giving a personal opinion here. But. Yes, the but. But, at least take the time to do your own research and develop your own opinion. Do not fall prey to the approaching Republican propaganda machine. Remember the swift boat veteran debacle? Yes, get off of your asses and spend a little time thinking about your future and the future of your country.

Voting Republican spells doom for us all. And they eat small children and abuse kittens.

Bush Getting Anal Action This Weekend

This is not a joke, President Bush will be taking a probe up his bum-bum this Saturday. Okay, so it is a medical procedure known as a colonoscopy but still, who knows what else that doctor will be doing when he is back there. And is it really necessary for Tony Snow to be there to take video and pictures?

The most terrifying part of this whole ordeal will be the fact that Dick Cheney will be given temporary presidential powers. This will be quite a weekend. First, Harry Potter will die and then Bush will be getting his ass probed.

Are we living in the end times? It now seems so.
